Mateen Abbasi
Research Coordinator
Hello! I am Mateen Abbasi, a rising sophomore within the Accelerated 6-Year Pharmacy Program in the Rutgers Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. As Research Coordinator, I hope to lead many new and exciting projects as we better optimize our screenings and assess the efficacy of our community intervention programs.
Down the road, I hope to become involved within academic medicine, having the opportunity to interact with patients on the frontline, conduct research projects under an institution, and teaching my experiences and expertise to students. I am very passionate about exploring public health interventions, including social determinants embedded within healthcare, in addition to pharmaceutical applications within translational research.
Outside of my involvement here at APSEA, I love to volunteer at Marlboro First Aid as an Emergency Medical Technician and help out patients directly on the frontlines. In this upcoming year, I will serve as the Speed Networking Event Director at AMCP (Academy of Managed Care Pharmacists) and am currently on the Logistics Committee for TEDxRutgers.
In my free time, I enjoy travelling to new places, whether it be abroad or a part of New Jersey I never knew existed. My other passions include hiking, trying out new calisthenics exercises, photography, listening to music, spending time with friends and family.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions and/or connect with me on LinkedIn.
